Intermediate practice of learning piano includes mastering more complex pieces with both hands, improving sight-reading skills, and understanding more advanced music theory (like chord progressions, key signatures, and modes). It also focuses on developing speed, hand coordination, and dynamics (playing softly or loudly). About Teacher

Ricardo De Leon is the founder and owner of Long Island Piano Lessons and Piano Tuning, with over 20 years of teaching experience and more than 20 years of professional performance experience. Trained in traditional piano with a strong classical foundation, Ricardo brings a well-rounded and versatile approach to music education.

He offers instruction in a wide range of styles, including Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Jazz, Broadway, Pop, as well as songwriting and composition. His teaching style is patient, engaging, and tailored to each student’s individual goals and learning pace.

Ricardo is deeply committed to helping his students succeed, creating lessons that are both educational and enjoyable for children and adults alike.

Ricardo is amazing! He is great with my 8 year old son who has a crazy amount of energy. He knows just how much he can handle and pushes him to his potential while making it fun. My son has improved tremendously in only 7 months, performed in a recital and is on his way to NYSMA. Ricardo is also flexible with our schedule and always finds a way to make it work. Highly recommend Ricardo!!!

I've been taking lessons with Ricardo for a few months. He is a great teacher, after only a couple lessons I was able to play actual songs on the piano already. He makes learning fun and dives right in to learning any kind of piano song you want. Highly recommend him as a teacher!
